Something that’s been on my mind for awhile is how I want to incorporate self love and self care into this space.
It’s one of the things that I need to figure out how to put it into words, and bring this up to the forefront of this blog.
Part of me thinks “What right do I have to dispense any advice” while the other part of me is like “Why not?”. I enjoy giving advice, and if something I say can resonate with someone then why not right? And, I like to think that I’ve got some good advice.
I love self love. It’s funny because it’s definitely just in recent years that I’ve been able to put a label on it, but self love is a practice I’ve been doing for years.
But what does self love mean? And what does it mean to me?
Self love (to me) is the ability to love yourself without restraint. No judgement, no exceptions. To be unapologetically comfortable in your own skin. Sure, I’m always learning, and not every day is all rainbows but that’s life. Sometimes it’s just taking a bath and reading a good book, sometimes it’s going out for girls night and dancing the night away.
It’s not giving any fucks about what other people think or say about you. Knowing your worth, and not letting others define what they think you should be worth.
Pretty much what I want to do here is be your personal cheerleader.
I want to know when you’re not feeling it, and when things are going well for you. I want to be there to say woohoo and shoot you advice and encouragement to stick with it. If I can encourage you to stick with one thing, and make you believe in yourself, I’ll call that a win for everyone.
