5SOS “Meet You There” Tour | Lifestyle

5SOS is currently touring North America before heading off to the UK/Europe for their Meet You There tour.

I’m a recent fan of 5SOS (5 Seconds of Summer) and I’m obsessed with their newest album, Youngblood. Being a newer fan, when I found out they were in town it was definitely a spur of the moment purchase.

I knew that I would regret it if I didn’t go to hear them sing Youngblood live (it’s my current favourite song to listen too). So I went. I did originally try to see if one of my co-worker’s daughters would want to come with me so I wasn’t the old lady there, but it ended up that Andrew was ok with tagging along.

It’s actually been a while since we’ve gone to a concert together, so it was nice to make it a date night. We went out for dinner and then headed to the concert area. 5SOS were performing at Echo Beach which is a fun venue – it’s literally on a beach! We missed the opening act (to my sadness… even though I didn’t know who they were. I just hate missing any part of a show.) But we arrived in time for them to play their first song! Perfect timing. Usually, I’m a bit late when I go anywhere with Andrew.

The Set List:

They played for about an hour and a half. I really enjoyed all the songs that they played, and they played most of their new album.

They opened with Babylon and just jumped straight into their set.

Talk Fast // Moving Along // She’s Kinda Hot // Girls Talk Boys // Waste the Night // More // Better Man // If Walls Could Talk // Ghost of you // Amnesia // The Only Reason // Lie to Me // Why Won’t You Love Me // Valentine // Meet You There // Black Jet Heart // Want You Back

They finished up, and then came back for the encore set of She Looks So Perfect and of course, Youngblood.

I think one of my favourite things about this concert was how well they blended each song into the next. And they talked to the crowd and each other on stage. I love that they play so many instruments – so talented! They slowed it down in the middle and started Ghost of You with just a piano solo piece. Very well done.

Andrew was impressed with the light show (even though he complained about being blinded and needing sunglasses) and it was so well done. I can’t wait to see these boys again.

Andrew also said that he didn’t realize that some of the songs they played were by 5SOS in the first place. I love when that happens! Even though we still felt old because most of the crowd was in the 16 age range and their parents (haha). I joked to Andrew that this will be us in the coming years.

I honestly can’t wait to take Kaiden to concerts and it was the first time I kind of wish we have a little girl so I can take her to the boy band concerts (with me, obviously, because I will still love them all).

Do you have any boy bands that are a guilty pleasure like 5SOS? Have you seen them live? Let me know!
