Montreal Bachelorette Girls Weekend | Travel

Back in August, I packed up and headed out for a bachelorette weekend in Montreal.

This was my 2nd full weekend away from Kaiden and the first one where I couldn’t just go home. This time, if shit hits the fan, Dad will just have to figure it out.

It’s the bachelorette party for the wedding we’re attending in October (Andrew is part of the grooms’ party), and even though I’m not a bridesmaid, the bride awesomely invited me along. I’m very excited for a weekend of girl chat, good food, drinking and dancing.

So, what am I packing for this awesome weekend?

Since there will be multiple “fancier” type dinners and dancing, I’m going to be packing quite a few dresses. Full makeup. A couple of heel options. I know that we’ll be going for brunches and a spa day; I will need some comfort day clothes and shoes, too. The ladies putting the whole trip together sent out the itinerary and a “What to bring” list was included:d

  • Pair of heels
  • Shorts/tank top
  • Sunscreen
  • Comfy shoes for walking
  • Jean shorts
  • A dressy outfit
  • One bathing suit
  • A backpack

Pretty much everything I was going to bring! Glad to know that I am on the same page.

Most of my outfits were dresses: maxi, mini… makes it easy! I brought a couple t-shirts, jeans, and shorts for hanging out in and the drive. We needed “workout clothes” since we were going to be doing a pole-dancing class, and we were walking around quite a bit. The weather was amazing so I brought lots of sunscreen.

We made the drive to Montreal on Friday.

I got a ride with 3 other girls. A five-hour drive that felt really fast, we just chatted the entire drive and got to know each other better. We arrived in Montreal at dinner time and proceeded to unpack and chill out with the rest of the girls that were there. We didn’t have dinner reservations until later that night so once everyone arrived we had fun getting to know everyone and drink a little.

Our first location in Montreal was Kampai Garden. What a neat place! I’ve never really been anywhere (recently) in Montreal (where I could party) so there were a lot of firsts for me. The food was amazing, the drinks were so good, and the vibe was excellent. This place also turned into a clubby/bar so we didn’t have to change locations to get some dancing in. We bumped into quite a few other bachelor parties (so funny) and danced the night away.

Saturday was jam-packed!

Although that morning, no one was up for brunch so we had bagels at the AirBnB. We skipped out on the hike up Mont Royal, instead just deciding to walk down to Old Montreal for our pole dancing class. Oh man, what a workout that was! After walking for an hour, and then having a 90-minute workout, it’s amazing we were able to walk afterwards! I truly enjoyed the class, although I’m definitely not graceful. After the class, I booked a tattoo appointment so I left the girls and headed to that. Got those done and done, just in time to head back to the house and meet up with the rest of the girls. They were napping, so I got a tea and decided to call Andrew to catch up.

Once everyone started to get up, we made our night plans (bottle service, yo!) and ordered dinner. We ate at the house, got ready and headed out to Flyjin. Not really what I thought it was going to be, but it was great music and a lot of fun. Danced the night away again, drank way more than I should have probably, and had a great time. I probably could have walked home, I just had so much energy but that would have made the night even longer.

Sunday was our relaxation day.

We woke up, packed up the house and headed downtown to Bota Bota. Spa day! We did the water circuit and had some lunch. It was so delicious! I’m not really one for water circuits (mainly because the idea of getting into cold water is really not my idea of enjoyable) but it was such a great way of relaxing and detoxing after such a long, wild weekend.

It would have been great to have a massage before the long journey home, but it was too hard to schedule with such a large group.

The ride home wasn’t terrible but I think we were all ready to be home in our own beds.

It was definitely a great weekend, and a nice way to reconnect with my “non-mom” side.

Kaiden and Andrew had a great time up north without me, if you were wondering.
