Sukoshi Mart Toronto | Travel

Sukoshi Mart is one of the many Japanese stores in the downtown core of Toronto that have popped up in the past couple of years.

And I for one, am loving that more Japanese/Asian stores are coming to our shores. One of my biggest dreams is to actually visit Japan, but since I’ve no idea when that will happen, I can only live vicariously through what we have here.

Sukoshi Mart was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, and I almost didn’t find it! But after getting turned around once, I made it to their doors. It’s such an adorable place. I love the fact that they have so much candy!!!

Sukoshi Mart

Just walls filled with candy. I asked the girl which were the best ones and she pointed me towards a soft and a hard candy. Won’t lie, the soft candy was addictive and I’m sorry I didn’t buy more.  I still have the hard candy one which is good, but I realized that I’m not really a hard candy kinda girl. Soft all the way. Still freaking delicious though.

Can I also mention how adorable their logo/mascot is??

They also had a crazy amount of Japanese stationery imports. Plus so much Studio Ghibli/Totoro stuff! Just empty my wallet when I see that stuff. I didn’t know what these were when I bought them, but they are amazing.

List-bookmarks? I’m not even sure but they are so amazing with all the different characters. They’re also a pretty decent card stock so won’t get damaged easily.

I also grabbed a bunch of postcards (because obviously) and some stickers.

One of the best things about this place is the fact that they make fresh items of Japanese snack food daily! They made taiyaki right there while you wait, and they have three flavours. I chose the custard and oh-my-god it was heavenly. I also purchased a couple different flavours of onigiri to take home. They also make mochi and a couple other snacks.

They have a decent import beauty selection, which I’m shocked that I didn’t come home with something beauty related. But there were other things to spend my money on.

They get restocked all the time so it’s worth checking out fairly regularly if you’re in the area!

Next time I go back I’ll be buying more taiyaki, more onigiri, and more soft candy. I’m already planning my next trip!

Have you checked out the Sukoshi Mart?
