Year Long Plans

La la la! Japan.

The girls and I got together and discussed the important parts of our trip. Dates, places, and hotels. Not a lot can be done yet because we can’t pick a solid date yet, but we’re most likely leaning towards the end of August, beginning of September. I’m so excited.

A rough outline:
– 1 week Tokyo
– 1 night Takayama
– 2 nights Kyoto
– 2 nights Osaka
– A whole bunch of daytrips in between

I’m totally going to have to control myself while over there. I’m making a brief list of things that I want to buy while there, so that I don’t get tooo crazy with the spending.

In other news, I’m also thinking about going back to school. For reals this time. I’ve seriously always wanted to get a degree, and now I think I’m finally ready to take that step. It’s daunting. It’s exciting. I’ve decided that I want to try for my business degree, but I want to take it in smalls steps, so I’m going to take courses from the certificate program. Then, if I like it and can manage it, I’ll get my diploma and then degree. I plan on doing it part time so that I can still work, so it might take me awhile to get it, but I’m not rushing to get through it. I don’t have an immediate need for the degree as I like my job, but it’s making me realize that I want more in this industry. And to do more, I’m going to need more education. Sucks how that happens. 🙂 My lowly little diploma in Agriculture isn’t going to get me anywhere in the Business world. I’m going to start my climb up the corporate ladder. Who knew that’s where I would end up?

I’m hoping to start January 2012 (so far away) but I think financially (and time wise) it’ll be the best. With going to Japan I’ll most likely miss the first part of September and I’ll be feeling ridiculously poor. January I know that the Sheridan College opening up at Square One will be open and I can go to that one. So much closer to my house!! I can just go straight after work. Going to school might mean putting a car on hold, but I’m used to not having a car now anyways. Not a super huge deal. I’m still saving for one regardless. I can’t wait!! Unless Japan gets changed to earlier than September, I’m pretty sure this is how it’s going to happen. The only downside is that I’m going to need a refresher course in Math… Mature Student Equivalency tests are so not cool.

Exciting plans for my year to come!
xoxo
