Disneyworld Day 2! Two parks today – Animal Kingdom and Epcot!

The day dawned nice and… overcast. Where’s my glorious sun? Not out, that’s for sure. Probably for the best for the amount that we were walking and hitting up. I just made the mistake of wearing shorts and ending up FREEZING later on that night.

We started the day at Animal Kingdom, and pretty much raced through the park. We attempted to use the FastPass+ feature, but all the times were always way later than we wanted to stay for. So many things to see there.

I think my favourite was being able to see all the animals. And the roller coaster was pretty darn fun too. We saw majority of the animals in the safari portion, which is pretty impressive that that’s even there. We even saw the tigers! It was pretty cool. I think all the birds just being able to fly around the park was nice too. It’s almost overwhelming to look at, because there is so much going on. There’s also quite a bit of construction happening around some of the parks (this one in particular), it looks like they’re creating a new ride perhaps? Wouldn’t that be exciting. Although it was an overcast day, it probably was the reason that all the animals were out in force!

Once we finished the safari portion, we hopped back onto the bus and headed to Epcot. I didn’t really know what to expect from this one, as it really wasn’t the one that interested me that most, but it was actually a lot of fun. Not so much with the rides, as there weren’t many rollercoasters at this one, but just in the things to see. It was the Annual Garden/flower show while we were there, so they had all of these cool topiary statues created! I think my favourite were the ballerinas from Fantasia.

They also had this “Around the World” concept, where you go to different countries and you can find food, cultural items and information about them. We all had a good laugh at the Canada booth, eh. Not as stereotypical as we thought it would be, but pretty vague and broad points about Canada. My favourite part of this was the Japan portion. I was in heaven. So much to do with Studio Ghibli, and I wanted literally everything that had to do with Sanrio and Miyazaki. I even did a whole post earlier about this!

We didn’t stay long enough for the firework show at this one, we headed out for dinner instead at the resort. Woot. Another successful day at Disneyworld!
