Life :: Amsterdam Centraal

A couple hours on a train, and a nice chat with my cousin who was headed back to university, we arrived in the bustling city of Amsterdam.

We arrived and walked around for a litte bit, to see what we find for dinner, but nothing really jumped out at us, and we were pretty tired of lugging around our luggage. So we decided that finding out where our AirBnB apartment was would be the best plan of action. We were staying fairly “downtown”, but on the other side of the river, so we had to cross at the ferry. It was actually fairly close to where Andrew and I stayed while in Amsterdam, but just a different island point.

Our AirBnB apartment was amazing. I loved it so much, and totally want to live there permanently. Or at least try and style my apartment after it. I have a real love for eclectic stylings. Anyways, we found the apartment, got ourselves settled, and then went off hunting for dinner. We found a cute little corner store that sold croquettes and fries, got them all wrapped up to go, and chowed down. Although we spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get the futon into a bed… it was a wonderful night.

Although we were all up “early” we still weren’t rushing to get out the door before 9, which was nice. The first day we decided to just walk around the city. Enjoying all the nice sites around the city.

The Bloemarket. Right on the side of the canal! Floating on the canal. One block of bulbs, flowers, and everything for your gardening needs.

The fish market! All the smoked fish, and the herons were close by, waiting for a dropped morsel.

Up next, spending the day at some museums!
