Life :: Afternoon Tea at the Ritz-Carlton

Nothing quite so top drawer as going out for an afternoon tea.

Especially at the Ritz-Carlton. This was my first Meet Up meeting, and it was also the first time that I’ve partaken in afternoon tea.

For my first meet up, I think that it definitely went well! All the ladies are so interesting and friendly. There were a few that had already met already, and some who were like me and never been to one yet. The great thing about these things is the diversity of a group. You’ll always be able to find something in common with someone. Even if it’s just gushing over whatever you are shoving into your face at the moment because it’s so delicious!

I think that this set the bar high for the tea. The venue was spectacular, I definitely need to go back in the summer so I can have tea on the patio. So warm and cosy! The tea selection was great. Enough to cater to many different tastes, but not so many that you were overwhelmed trying to choose.

I wasn’t sure what kind of food was going to be served. You know that it’s going to be a selection of finger sandwiches, but I wasn’t sure that it was going to be filling at all. Boy, was I wrong! It started with a quiche, and just kept coming. Sandwiches galore, scones with Kitten and the Bear preserves and clotted cream, and the desserts were just… without words. Most of us were actually too full to even eat any so we took them home. And devoured them there. Cue unattractive pictures for sure! I have recently found a new-found love of macarons, and these were amazing.
