Keeping Balance in Our Relationship | Lifestyle

Now that my maternity leave is over I’m back to figuring out how to balance my time in the best way possible.

I’m working part-time for Andrews company, working on my blog, looking after Kaiden… let’s just say it doesn’t leave a lot of time for anything else!

So how do you make sure that you and your significant other don’t lose that spark?

As unsexy as it may seem, it’s all about making the time for it. Andrew and I have to be especially cognizant of the fact that we don’t just only talk about baby and work.

Bringing work home is possibly the worst thing ever. It’s going to happen, obviously, and I’m not complaining about that fact. But it’s important to make sure that you still reconnect over the things that made us fall in love in the first place.

So what do we do?

Andrew and I have started going on more date nights again. Sometimes it’s as simple as taking Kaiden to the grandparents for a sleepover so we can stay at home and Netflix and chill. And sleep. Sleep like we did pre-baby.

We also make plans to do things that are out of the norm or our comfort zone. We’d like to take a couple dance classes, or learn something new together.

We also make sure that we do things that we enjoy without each other. Hanging out with friends or going to concerts. Just solo, without Kaiden or me. As much as it’s important to nourish our relationship with each other it’s just as important to cultivate our relationship with ourselves. #selflove baby!!

Do you have any suggests on how to maintain a healthy work/life/relationship balance? Any suggestions for fun and random date nights?

It’s not about the money you spend, it’s about the time and memories made.
