February ‘To The Moon and Back’ Fairyloot Unboxing | Stationery

To The Moon and Back.

For me, this instantly invokes undying romances and loyalty to your person. And of course, a story based on the mythology of the Chinese Moon Goddess, Chang’e, certainly fits the bill.

First off though, we’ll talk about the box. We have an art print inspired by a previous book, Wicked Fox by Kat Cho. Another book to add to my growing TBR list.

A pretty Crescent City-inspired necklace. Delicate and dainty. It will be a nice addition to my jewelry collection and I’ll be able to wear it for some fun events this summer.

This month’s tarot cards of the King and Queen of Pentacles featuring Mustang and Darrow from the Red Rising series. I’m pretty sure I’ve got the complete set of Pentacles now!

SOCKS! I love a good pair of socks. These are inspired by The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern.

Another tote, I’m going to never need another grocery bag again. This is inspired by the Daughter of the Moon Goddess and is so bright and colourful. It’s so pretty!

A set of celestial-themed bookends finishes the items in this box (the picture is below) and they’re so pretty. Don’t they look amazing with the book?

February’s themed book is Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan.

A captivating debut fantasy inspired by the legend of Chang’e, the Chinese moon goddess, in which a young woman’s quest to free her mother pits her against the most powerful immortal in the realm.

Growing up on the moon, Xingyin is accustomed to solitude, unaware that she is being hidden from the feared Celestial Emperor who exiled her mother for stealing his elixir of immortality. But when Xingyin’s magic flares and her existence is discovered, she is forced to flee her home, leaving her mother behind.

Alone, powerless, and afraid, she makes her way to the Celestial Kingdom, a land of wonder and secrets. Disguising her identity, she seizes an opportunity to learn alongside the emperor’s son, mastering archery and magic, even as passion flames between her and the prince.

To save her mother, Xingyin embarks on a perilous quest, confronting legendary creatures and vicious enemies across the earth and skies. But when treachery looms and forbidden magic threatens the kingdom, she must challenge the ruthless Celestial Emperor for her dream—striking a dangerous bargain in which she is torn between losing all she loves or plunging the realm into chaos.

Daughter of the Moon Goddess begins an enchanting, romantic duology which weaves ancient Chinese mythology into a sweeping adventure of immortals and magic—where love vies with honor, dreams are fraught with betrayal, and hope emerges triumphant.

THIS BOOK. THIS THEME. OBSESSED.

So, since I’ve watched the movie Over The Moon on Netflix, I’ve been obsessed with Chang’e and her mythology. So this book is pretty much a super special treat for me! Plus… this edition is STUNNING. I know, I say that every single month because I never think that Fairyloot will top the current month, but. Here we are.

The cover, the artwork on the end pages, the digitally sprayed edges. It’s just perfection.

I haven’t started this one yet, as I’m currently reading a couple of others and I think that 3 books are my max to keep organized in my head. But once I’m done with those, this is at the top of my pile.

Is this book on your to-read list? It should be!
