Embracing Ambition is a beautiful collection of women’s stories while breaking glass ceilings.
I was invited to attend the book launch for Embracing Ambition by Jenny Mitchell, alongside eleven other women in leadership. They collaborated over a weekend workshop, writing their stories and inspiring each other.
Collectively, these women might seem like they have nothing in common other than being women who have high-powered, leadership roles. But together, as they told their stories, they could see themselves in each other. It’s such a powerful feeling, and you could feel that these women had become friends from collaborating on this project.
At the Gladstone House
The event was full of women mingling and networking. In between the food and drink, the authors read excerpts from their chapters.
The food was delicious. I ate doubles of probably everything because it was so good.
The Authors
Jenny Mitchell is the main author and talking with her was wonderful. We chatted about the book, the process, and life for both of us. Honestly, it was so inspiring. I walked away from our conversation feeling buoyed and motivated. I felt like I could take on the world. I talked to her the most, but I did have conversations with all the ladies about the book. They were all excited about how it was being received and hopeful for the inspiration it would bring to the next generation.
As they read their excerpts, the emotion was palpable. There were a lot of chuckles, nods, and a general sense of agreement from the audience that most of the women could relate to each chapter. Audiences are such good feedback, and this one was just a great energy.

Embracing Ambition is the culmination of these women’s life stories (and ongoing).
