Next Stop: Kelowna!

Welcome to September… Sigh. Vacation’s come and gone already. Hard to believe. It was amazing though. Sad to think that it’ll be another 10 months (at least) until I see my bestie again. Gotta do a recap of everything that happened. SO MUCH, and yet not enough.

Thursday, Sept 1 was when I flew out of Toronto to Kelowna. Direct flight (woot) which had me there in four hours. It’s always such a faster flight going that way, unlike coming home. Gaining three hours is amazing. I left at 4.45 Toronto time, and landed 5.45 Vancouver time. I did some reading, didn’t eat, drink or pee the entire flight, it was pretty epic. HAH. I got off the plane and was like, wow this is a tiny airport. Awesome because a) easier to find her, and b) can’t get lost trying to find the baggage claim. It was awesome, we didn’t make the biggest scene, but definitely the biggest scene for that airport. I picked up my luggage and we departed. It’s like we haven’t had any time apart. We text, email and MSN all the time, but it’s not the same as good ole fashioned face to face time. We had so much to catch up on. Talking boys is so much more fun when you can see the other person’s facial expressions.

I was starving, and arrived just at dinner time, so we had to head out and do a time told tradition of ours: Nachoes and wings. Mm, so good. Both of us don’t have the stomachs we used to in school, so we don’t eat as much, but we made good work of them both. So much food. Fabulous. It was awesome because as we’re driving into Vernon (where she lives), she was just like don’t judge it by this area (where the military training camps are) and then we drive by a park and she’s like I haven’t been to this one yet maybe we should do a walk through one of the days you’re here. Until we noticed all the police flashing lights… We drive by and there’s like the entire police force of Vernon, guns drawn and circling this guy, who must have been drunk and belligerent. It was pretty funny. She was like… Please don’t judge. I was just happy to be there, I didn’t even care.

Her place is so cute. It totally makes me want to move out. Completely reno’d, it’s so cute. Perfect for her and Ace (her dog). Super cuteness. Mal keeps trying to get me to move out there, and I would but honestly don’t think I have a chance at convincing Andrew to make the move with me. That night we really just chilled, organized clothes for our trip to Vancouver, and then watched Mean Girls. It was kind of an early night, just because I was still on Toronto time.

Friday, Sept 2 was our girly day. Mani/pedis!! It was so awesome. The place was a small, but busy Asian place, and they were so good. I got both guys that spoke English and lived in Ontario at one point in their lives, and Mal was funny to watch during the pedi as she’s super ticklish. Her pedicurist had a theory that since she had sensitive feet she was in a relationship, which she kind of is. So, by that reasoning I should be single because I’m not ticklish. The guy who did mine was like You’re wrong, it doesn’t work, she has a boyfriend! So funny. He was really good at massaging. I think I might need to do a pedi more often… Feet were so nice afterwards. Then we got French manis and I love getting them done professionally. So good. I can’t do them that nicely. Plus they look so nice while shopping… *cough* Nails always last so much longer when done professionally. After that luxurious morning, we then headed out for Vancouver, and the long but exciting roadtrip of 4 hours down.

Cranking the tunes way up, we danced our way into Vancouver and it was awesome. Listened to mixes of old stuff (N’Sync, Spice Girls, the Moffatts *cough*) and new.
xoxo
