Mother’s Day Recap | Mom Life

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone who celebrates it!

I got the best Mother’s Day gift of all this year: Absolute alone time.

Oh yes. I was not spending Mother’s Day with my family. My partner delighted me with taking the kids away and letting me watch tv and be alone in the house for 2 whole days. As a stay-at-home mom in a pandemic, there is very little time spent away from my boys. So it’s especially good for Eli to have some alone time with just Dad as he hasn’t gotten any of it during the lockdown.

And it was glorious.

I got to watch TV (started Shadow & Bone – anyone want to fangirl with me?), did some little things like cooking and cleaning, but mainly sorted through the hand-me-downs that we got for the boys. That meant that the basement got clean(er)!

I know have so many clothes for the boys, it’s a bit ridiculous. But with Kaiden starting school in September, these will be a blessing.

I didn’t get to have the photoshoot I wanted to do for the blog, but I was still lazily productive. It was calm, it was uplifting to my soul, and it made me in such a good mood.

The boys came home Sunday night with an adorably written card (by Kaiden) for me, and they also got me a lovely Pandora bracelet and earrings. We ordered sushi for dinner and just chilled the rest of the night. I was so excited to see them and they came back in roughly the same condition they left in (just a couple of scrapes haha).

I had an absolute blast dancing to music with the volume extra loud. I didn’t go anywhere except the grocery store and it was perfect.

Andrew’s going to be having an away weekend coming up so having one weekend alone is the best.

What did you get up to for Mother’s Day?
