Life :: Apartment Update – Renos!

Renovating, even simply moving furniture around, makes me so happy. It’s almost a little sad, but I love it.

Lucky for Andrew and I, we live in an apartment that we rent, but his parents own, so are fine with us making more personal tweaks to it (especially since Andrew can easily put it back to normal). And most of the tweaks that we are slowly doing are eventually going to add value to the apartment when we move out. Win-Win.

After our vacation to Europe, Andrew was feeling adventurous and decided that we needed a pot light over the kitchen sink. So he cut a hole in our ceiling, and there that hole sat for a good 3 months. Until last month he finally put it together. He did have to ruin the tile a little bit, but who cares! We have an amazing working light, and it’s perfect. How did we live without one?

Renovation-01

Another handyman reno that we’re doing is taking down this little half-wall that separates the kitchen and living room. It’s rather useless, and will help open up the room even more. We still haven’t completed taking down the entire thing, but it’s getting there? I was hoping that we’d get to it this weekend, but so far no dice.

Another [huge] thing that finally got done was putting up a space in the office for me! Even though I got the smaller desk *cough* but with the black plywood along the back I can at least get some space in which I can spread my papers out. I’m definitely one of those people who like to spread my mess around. So perhaps having a huge work space isn’t the best for me after all… I’ll have to post pictures later… It’s not clean enough for my liking yet!

What do you think of the changes that are occurring around my place? If there was something that you could change about your place, what would it be?
