Events Over the Next Six Months | Life

Summer usually is a time to relax up at the cottage, right?

Not so this summer! Andrew and I have a packed schedule for the next couple months and every weekend seems to have something to do! Don’t get me wrong, I love the fact that there are so many things happening this summer. But for some reason, it seems like this year is busier from the start of summer than previous years.

I haven’t really done an “Upcoming Events” post in a while, I typically just update my Upcoming Events page (that I seem to have gotten rid of…). But I haven’t really had any noteworthy events, so I think I compiled the list into others and forgot about it. So now that I have some EXCITING stuff happening this summer, here’s my monthly breakdown of events over the next 6 months!

June

Jumping right into the month I have a bridal shower for an old family friend (also the daughter of my boss), which will be lovely. I am able to bring Kaiden to this which is nice. I’m headed back to the ballet for Frame By Frame in the 2nd week of June and then heading up north for a cottage weekend to celebrate one of Andrew’s buddy’s birthdays. By the end of the month, I will be having a back to back “dance” weekend, as we’ll be hitting up a club for another friend’s birthday, and I’m hosting my own ‘Girls Night Out’ dance night. I think I’m finally ready to go out for a night and just get my groove back!

July

It’s the 2nd long weekend of the summer – Canada Day! I’m not 100% sure of the plans for this day. Normally it would be a cottage weekend, but we also have a friend’s first birthday party for their son. We haven’t figured out what our plan is going to be for that weekend. Another bridal shower to attend – this one is for a friend that while I’m not in the wedding party, Andrew is one of the groomsmen! I think we’re going to try to get up to the cottage once more this month, and then I’m headed to see Panic! At The Disco (again!!!) but this time with Hayley Kiyoko (I’m so excited, I can’t breathe). This one is at the Air Canada Centre, so it’ll be my first time seeing anything there!

August

Starting with the August long weekend up at the cottage again. Always a great way to start a month, right? This month we have the wedding of the first bridal shower I attended in June. I’m going with my mom (as her plus one) so it’ll be a great night. Andrew will be looking after Kaiden and has mentioned maybe taking him up to the cottage without me. So, maybe I’ll be childless for a whole weekend? Whatever shall I do? I think if that happens I might get a manicure/pedicure before the wedding. Make a day of it, ya know? Which should last me until the bachelorette party at the end of the month. This one is a bit of a travel one, and Andrew will have Kaiden again. We’re hitting up Montreal! In there as well Andrew has his birthday (Dirty 30!) and then Fan Expo takes place during the last weekend of the month and into September. Oh, there’s also the CNE happening and Marianas Trench is performing. I’m undecided on whether or not to head into the city to check it out. They’re really good life, and I haven’t seen them perform in a while. Plus, it’s the CNE!

September

With the calming wave that is going back to school, the extreme craziness of the summer is starting to slow down just a little bit. I would like to attend one of the many fall fairs around our beautiful province. I’m thinking of going to the Bracebridge Fall Fair. I’d like to start a bit of a tradition of doing so now that Kaiden is more aware of things! Plus, it’s always fun to see the horse show – I used to compete in them all the time! We are also going to see Dane Cook live again! This time we’re going in a bit of a bigger group, and I’m so excited to laugh my ass off again.

October

During the Thanksgiving long weekend, we have the wedding that I went to the bachelorette for. I’m very excited for these two to tie the knot. I’m sure that their wedding is going to be beautiful! I also am going back to the Air Canada Centre to see Florence and the Machine. I’m so freaking excited about this concert as well. I’ve been wanting to see her live for so long, and her last album was so amazing. Her new album, High as Hope, comes out June 29, and I can’t wait to give it a full listen to!

November

The craziness has wound down fully, but that doesn’t mean that the exciting things are ready to stop. Only one major event this month (as of yet). My mom and I are going to head to Rochester, NY to see Josh Groban who is touring with Idina Menzel. I literally would die to see either one of them on Broadway – so this is the next best thing. Plus, them together! On Twitter Josh has hinted that they will be singing lots of duets together. I’m swooning right now. His new album is out later this year I believe, but I can’t find anything about it online. Plus it means that we’ll be driving right by Buffalo, so of course, we’ll be checking out Target. This one is a little bit of a two-fer since it’s music and travel.

Just writing out this post makes me so excited for the upcoming months.

I don’t know if I have one favourite thing. I know that I’m extremely excited for the concerts, and of course the events for all our friends. But I know that I’ll also be trying to get into Toronto more to hit up dessert cafes and places that I’ve been meaning to get to for years! I’m just really looking forward to making lots of memories and having a great time. Keep an eye out for exciting posts about all this stuff!

Do you have any plans for the summer? Let me know!
