I’m impressed with how on top of this make up goal I am. It definitely does help that I’ve recently been needing more makeup, as I am currently unsatisfied with my current situation. I really need to do a ‘How much my face costs/What’s on my face’ post. I was using Revlon’s Nearly Naked liquid foundation, but had taken a break because it was too light for my new, sun-kissed skin tone during the summer. Then I went through a phase of trying out BB/CC creams trying to find the best one. Needless to say, I didn’t really find one. Peter Thomas Roth’s came close but the price tag just makes one cringe when you’re trying to save money.
So, while in the States, I jumped on this great looking tube of Rimmel’s BB Cream. I’ve never really had any criticisms with Rimmel, I’ve always liked most of their products. I’ve purchased many of their different lines before, ranging from mascara to bronzer, to lipsticks and nail polishes. Of course, these were mostly before I started actually writing reviews for the makeup that I bought [or was less diligent about posting and taking pictures].
And I have no more criticism for this product. It wears really nicely, has a decent amount of coverage and has SPF. It’s not high, but it’s better than nothing. Of course, I have not used it long enough to confirm whether the 9 benefits that it spouts it does are actually true:
- Primes
- Moisturizes
- Minimizes pores
- Conceals
- Covers
- Smooths
- Mattifies
- Brightens
- Protects
The texture is really nice, and it does make my face feel really smooth, without the heaviness of foundation. I enjoy the coverage, and it does last a full day of work, although I should probably still bring powder to do little touch-ups so I don’t look shiny throughout the day. Darn you oily skin. The light is also a good colour for my face, especially during the winter months. For the summer, I would probably have to mix the two colours since I gain quite a bit of pigment.
Overall, definitely a good buy for the price. I enjoy using it, and probably should wear it more often. Of course, this is the US packaging, as it looks quite different on this side of the border. I actually think that I like the way the US one looks versus the Canadian.
Is this something that you’ve purchased before? Are you thinking about it? Let me know in the comments!
