Wow. Hard to believe that 2015 has gone by, and honestly. What. A. Doozy.
Anyone else with me on that one? 2015 was a little bit of a roller coaster in every single way.
Sometimes, the years go by and it feels like you’ve accomplished nothing, a little recap for perspective is required. When you feel like everyone else is doing bigger and better things than you, and you’re hardcore feeling the FOMO, you need to have a sit down and just a little bit of inner reflection.
Looking back on 2015, it was intense.
I turned 27. I know that people say that “30 is the hardest number”, but for me turning 27 feels extremely weird. It’s not that intimidating of a number, (it’s also the year that I’m turning the same age as my birth date) but there’s a sense of weight to this age. I feel like a full-fledged adult now. There are still milestones that I haven’t hit yet (engagement, marriage, kids) but I’ve hit others (travel, first home, career).
Andrew and I bought a house! Major milestone this year, and it’s pretty intense. I’m still kind of reeling from how quickly it happened, as well as readjusting financially to accommodate for it. Especially since we are still renovating it. Not as quick a process as we had hoped/thought/imagined/wanted/wished. But it’s getting there! And I hopefully will have more images and posts about the progress up soon.
I spent a lot of time with family this year, and was able to do a trip to the motherland with my mom, brother, and aunt. Such a different trip from the craziness that Andrew and I did, much more relaxed and I saw way more of the Netherlands this time around.
Speaking of trips, Andrew and I managed to do a quick getaway to Florida and spent the weekend at Disneyworld. I think that we’re planning California for 2016. (Fingers crossed)
I went to quite a few concerts – WayHome, Jason Aldean, Tove Lo (which I still haven’t posted about… #bloggerfail). I’m loving the fact that I’m enjoying and going to more live music venues. Next year – WayHome or Boots and Hearts?
The Pan-Am Games came to town! I managed to be able to spend the day enjoying the heat (getting burned) and watching some of the dressage. Such a fantastic day to see such fantastic talent. #rideraspirations
I graduated school! That was a biggie as well, and now no more school for me! I’ll probably do courses here and there, but I won’t be signing up for more school in the near future.
I am ready to say goodbye to 2015 and I’m welcoming 2016 with open arms. I look forward to having you on my journey!
