A Look at My Eyeshadow Palettes | Beauty

Are you an eyeshadow palette or eyeshadow singles kind of person?

For me, it’s all about the palettes. I’m all about getting the most for my money, and the idea of having more colours that complement each other over having to figure it out, just is a win for me.

So, while there are a couple that I’ve purchased myself, I’ve also been gifted quite a few of my current ones. Let’s dive in!

Anastasia Beverly Hills x Norvina Pro Pigment Vol 3

The ABH x Norvina palette was a gift and it’s definitely out of my regular comfort zone in terms of colour. BUT the pandemic kind of made me want to try them out since I wasn’t really going anywhere anyway? Who was gonna make fun of me other than my kids, who already tell me when I look silly. Nothing new there. Kids, amirite?

I absolutely LOVE the brightness of all the colours but I still have a hard time using them. I’ve started using bright colours as eyeliners instead of my standard liquid black cat-eye, so here’s to using this more often. I’ll try them out as eyeliners first. If anyone has any YouTube videos for this palette, send them my way!

Urban Decay Naked Honey & Naked Wild West

Urban Decay is my classic go-to for eyeshadow. Their Naked line is one that I’m constantly looking at and I owned the Naked 1 palette for probably way too long. I recently just tossed it since it was like 12 years old, and upgraded to the Naked Wild West palette. I am absolutely obsessed with this one. The colours are right up my alley and still neutral enough for every day (which helps replace the Naked 1). The blue is so pretty and all the colours are extremely flattering. Urban Decay’s pigmentation is always spot on, and a great mix of matte and shimmer shades.

The other Urban Decay palette I got during the pandemic is the Naked Honey Mini. I wasn’t ready to take the plunge for the whole palette but Shopper’s Drug Mart had it in a bundle with a setting spray, pencil liner, and eye primer. I couldn’t say no to that! The colours are also super neutral but way more shimmery than matte. I love it but the glitter does get everywhere. It’s such a warm set of shades that it’s very pretty to use.

Sephora Collection

I got this Sephora Collection palette as a gift as well – and it’s a pretty close dupe for the Wild West palette? Of course, I don’t think you can get this one anymore… I couldn’t find it on their website. It comes with liquid eyeliner and lashes (which I haven’t used yet) but the shades are just different enough that I don’t feel bad about splurging for the Wild West one. The darker purple-blue is fun to play with!

Shein.com SHEGLAM WOLF CALLS

I recently just decided to throw this one in my cart when I was getting another swimsuit for Eli. I’m kind of obsessed with the ice blues in this one. The pigmentation is not quite as strong as the Urban Decay one, but I’ll play around with it to see if water helps for the eyeliner. Otherwise, the pigmentation is fine. I’ve only used it once, but for a $9.00 palette, it’s pretty darn good.

So yes. Am I a bit obsessed? Definitely.

I should probably just start using them regularly and mix and match them. Any colour combos I should try first?

So much for me being less influenced by social media.
