In the summer time, there’s really nothing more romantic than swinging out and getting some kind of dessert and coffee instead of a heavy dinner. Who wants something heavy in this heat?

Two weeks ago I was invited to try out the new dessert range at Delysees Toronto at 780 King Street West in Toronto. Oh-Em-Gee. If you have any kind of sweet tooth, you need to get down there stat. Known for offering over 20 different macaron and eclairs, as well as gelato sandwiches, they’ve become a staple in Toronto. You can sit down or take out, have an espresso and delight over the delicious and decadent flavours of sweets they offer.

Their new range is introducing the “mini collection” of eclairs, tarts, cakes, and cheesecakes.

Absolutely stunning to look at, and even more delicious to taste! They had about 20 different desserts circling around, including a few that were alcoholic. In partnership with The Grange  of Prince Edward County wines and Sloane teas, they had cocktails, wine and fun infused desserts. I stayed away from the alcoholic ones mainly because I was driving, but they looked stunning.

The eclairs, macarons, and the tarts were my favourites. Some of the chocolate treats were extremely rich, so the mini was the perfect size. I found myself wishing for a cup of tea though, because I love tea with my treats!

I definitely want to go back with the boy for a romantic night out. Grab some treats and then stroll around downtown and do some people watching, and actually taking the time to have a conversation and slow down. Life gets hectic sometimes, and Andrew’s work schedule usually triples during the summer.

Have you been here before? Any other hot dessert spots I should know about and check out?
