August’s OwlCrate theme was “Ruthless Royals” and it was quite good.
Not quite as many things as the July box, but probably more things that cost more? If that makes sense. Lots of pretty items in this box – which makes sense with the theme of royals, even if they are ruthless.
The book was Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart. I’m quite looking forward to this book, and online seems to be loving this one! It is the first in a
Bold, brutal, and beautiful—a must-read fantasy full of fierce sisterhood, action, and political intrigue for fans of The Selection series and
Caraval .In a world where women have no rights, sisters Serina and Nomi Tessaro face two very different fates: one in the palace, the other in prison.
Serina has been groomed her whole life to become a Grace–someone to stand by the heir to the throne as a shining, subjugated example of the perfect woman. But when her headstrong and rebellious younger sister, Nomi, catches the heir’s eye, it’s Serina who takes the fall for the dangerous secret that Nomi has been hiding.
Now trapped in a life she never wanted, Nomi has only one way to save Serina: surrender to her role as a Grace until she can use her position to release her sister. This is easier said than done. A traitor walks the halls of the palace, and deception lurks in every corner. But Serina is running out of time, imprisoned on an island where she must fight to the death to survive and one wrong move could cost her everything.

Let’s see what we got in the box, shall we?
We got a pocket mirror designed by Catarina Book Designs, which is always useful. Plus it really is quite pretty!
I absolutely adore gemstone rings, and was pleased to see this one from GeoCentral. I will eventually wear it, it is a little big for my hands. It’s also not really a colour I would have chosen (I’m more drawn to angsty blues than earthy tones… even though I’m an earth-based sign) but it’s very pretty.
CraftedVan is Canadian so I was super pumped to see that they would have something in the box. I have a couple of their bookmarks already, and these guys are too cute to be evil! So much fun.
Who doesn’t love what Stella Bookish Art includes in these boxes? This book tin is awesome quality – it’d make a lovely jewellery tin or to hold stationery supplies. Definitely going to be a welcome addition to my desk!

While this month had some items that I probably won’t use much, it’s definitely was a good box! I can’t wait until the September box – Masters of Disguise!
Will you be subscribing? What did you think of this box?
