For Valentine’s, Show Canadian Brands With Love

Finding the perfect gift for your special someone doesn’t need to be difficult!

I’ve always been a huge fan of small, local, and Canadian shopping. I try to find it as a Canadian-made product first (although Amazon does come in clutch), but with the current political climate, it’s more important than ever. And let’s be real, don’t be fooled into thinking that our current government is pushing “Shop Canadian” because it’s what Canada needs. They were the same government that shut down all these small, local, Canadian businesses when they needed the support.

But that can be discussed in another post. Today is all about LOVE.

Showing these Canadian brands some love for your loved one this Valentine’s Day!

I’ve written about many of these brands because I love their products. Many a repeat purchase on this list! Also, none of these are sponsored, although I have one affiliate link.

Coming out of the gate with two tallow companies. Sometimes I feel like I’m cheating on these brands with each other, but they offer two very different tallow products!

Truly Tallow (I just reordered from them, post to come) is based out of Alberta and offers an amazing line of products for men, women, and babies. Their lip balm – the best! I love that they have a magnesium-infused balm, and I can’t wait to try out the new products I purchased this time! They all smell amazing and I can’t wait.

Stand Out Products: The Calm Balm, Lip Balm (Vanilla Peppermint), Sun Balm, Unblemished

Two of Earth Tallow is based out of Ontario and offers a completely different line of products. I enjoy their bar soap (very gentle and moisturizing) and the plain, unscented tallow balm is perfect for making my skin feel amazing. I honestly think this is making my boobs come back to life. Weird flex, but I said what I said. For my full review, check out my post here.

Stand Out Products: The Snob Bar, Raw Solid Tallow Balm
Canadian Brand

These two companies are only similar in that they offer tallow-based products. They are comparable in price to each other. I’ll keep using both these companies until I die, or they stop making them.

Another skincare brand that I love right now, out of beautiful British Columbia, is Lavigne Naturals. I’ve tried almost all their products because they have amazing bundles that let you try so many products for a great price. I haven’t tried their more specialized creams, sticking with the Mayan Magic cream. I have a full post here about the products if you want more specifics, but they’re lovely!

Stand Out Products: Botanical Facial Cleanser, Mayan Magic Balm, Scalp Therapy

Are you unsure what to get but know you want it to be Canadian?

Then you need to hit up these stores! These offer a selection of artists and brands in one location. The products range from food to jewelry, skincare, clothing, crystals, stickers, and home decor. Everything you didn’t know you needed all in one place.

RevolutionHER is the place to go if you are looking for women-owned businesses. They have more well-known brands, such as Sarah Baumler, Smash+Tess, Joyous Health, Bare Home, etc. This is where I buy the Wildpier Beauty glove from, so I don’t have to buy it online. I love their selection, but they are definitely on the higher end of the price spectrum. They’re in Mapleview Mall!

Stand Out Products: Wildpier Beauty glove, Colliers Crafts mug, Oakbark & Chrome Rider Belt Bag (I’m obsessed with this brand, but can’t justify the purchase)

While at Mapleview Mall, visit Makers. They offer artisan and handmade goods from local creators, ranging from jewelry to crystals and stickers. Honestly, I love a good sticker! There were some beautifully crafted items, and I made a few impulse purchases while I was there. I believe that the artisans are constantly changing so it’s hard to know what will be a stand-out product, but you never know what treasure you’ll find without going in!

The Brands I Purchased from: Boxed Sunshine (stickers), Sunshine & Lemons Co. (stickers, but I wanted a mug), Contagious Designs Canada (crystal sun catcher)

Last but not least, the Little Pink Brick House in Etobicoke. I LOVE her selection of items, this is where Two of Earth Tallow sells and does a store pick-up, and how I found out about this store in the first place. Her curated selection of artists is so nice. A lovely mix of crystals, makeup, home decor, clothing, and food. I would say that it’s similar to RevolutionHER except she’s not exclusively women-based. Typically, I spend too much money impulse shopping when I go to pick up my order.

I wrote about them here for one of their events (they do a lot of them!) but I think that a few of those brands have moved on and new ones have come in. They have a more seasonal turnaround, with a few that are fixtures.

With all these Canadian brands, you’re sure to find something amazing to love.

You’ll get an amazing product, plus the added benefit of knowing who and where your hard-earned money is going. The ladies behind these brands are all fantastic, and their customer service is top-notch. They go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy with your purchase. I absolutely love them all!

Let me know if you make any purchases!
