So it begins. I’ve been lucky. Andrew has been home a lot more, and I’ve spent pretty much every weekend (and a lot of weeknights) with him. But sadly, that has come to a brief hiatus.
Thankfully I was able to spend most of last week with him, and Friday I went over to his house for a big turkey dinner with his family (and uncle’s family) and it was a lot of fun. I enjoy hanging out with his cousins, and I think they like me. His sister and him were leaving that weekend, Andrew to BC and Julie back to school. This big dinner was to a) be the last family dinner in a while, and b) use the turkey that Andrew (and I) won at the turkey raffle in Niagara. Which was delicious, and I not even being a huge turkey lover. Then Andrew and I headed back to my house, and tried to go to bed early… for us.
We were up at 6.30 so I could take him to the airport. It was still dark, but people were on the roads, and the airport was pretty busy with people getting on flights. It’s so sad when I take him to the airport and I go back home alone, to my empty bed (even with the cat..) and fall back asleep. He’s gone for at least a month, I think.. Hopefully it doesn’t get pushed to more, although if it does he’s hoping that the company will pay to fly me out there for a weekend. (Fantastic if it happens… *fingers crossed*) But all I can say is that now my two favourite people are in British Columbia, and a 3 hour time difference behind. Completely sucks. Boo for a terrible time schedule, and him working nights, and days, and all the time.
Saturday and Sunday were spent in a lazy way, but Sunday night I got this huge cleaning rush, and cleaned out my desk, threw away all this trash that has been accumulating since before Christmas, cleaned off my bookshelf (a little) and put away some of my breakables (that the cat hasn’t already destroyed). Remade my bed before bed, and was in bed, lights out by 11.45. Which is amazing for me. Sadly it took me awhile to fall asleep, but it’s the effort. I’m slowly trying to push my bedtime back so that I’m not dead tired in the morning. Lots of “resolutions” that I’m trying to start and create habits for this week.
