Panic At the Disco is by far, one of my favourite bands. So when he and Weezer were coming to town, I knew I was going to be there.
Plus, tickets were fairly cheap, so why not right? I’d never really been a huge Weezer fan, but they were absolutely fantastic live. I might have to go digging for some of their music. And I was a little surprised by how many songs I knew but didn’t realize that they were by Weezer.
But I was truly there for Panic at the Disco. I saw him live a couple years ago, and he didn’t disappoint. He just released a new album closer to the beginning of the year and this performance was just as amazing. Andrew and his buddy Dennis came more for Weezer. Win-win, right?
He started pretty much on time, and jumped right into it. Between his vocal range, his musical instrument knowledge, tattoos, shirtless-ness, and backflips, Brendan Urie is pretty much perfection. Plus he has great hair.
The Set List:
The best thing about this concert was that both bands played full sets of awesome-ness. Brendan Urie was on stage for a good hour and a half, and then Weezer was on stage for the same amount of time. I didn’t even realize this at the time, but he didn’t do my favourite song. But it didn’t even matter. Death of a Bachelor was absolutely fantastic live, and I can now die happy. Plus his Queen cover? SO good.
I honestly couldn’t tell you the set list for Weezer to save my life. They did sing Beverly Hills, the one song that I knew by them. They were excellent as well, and definitely had some songs that I want to check out later! I would actually go see them again, because you know it’s good when you can enjoy the concert without knowing a single word to a song. I was happy to dance and scream the night away. Plus their set was pretty retro!
Still have chills thinking about the talent that they all have. I think this was one of my favourite concerts at the Molson Amp. Although I’ve been to a few good ones lately! Next concert up – WAYHOME!
