Another Europe trip? Lucky me! I went back to the Netherlands with my family this time, to visit my roots.
We left on a late Monday night, another red-eye flight. 11.15pm. I will literally never forget the plane ride with Andrew there. Best ever. This time was not so much. A packed flight, small screens, and they literally never finished playing one movie. I don’t know what the problem was, but it did allow me to get about a bit of sleep.
Oddly enough, this time around jet lag had absolutely no affect on me. Woot! We landed safely, although a little bit late once we finally taxied all over the airport and got our bags. Rene and Joeri were waiting for us, and we hopped in the car to their house!
I had missed this place. It’s so peaceful, and it’s so welcoming. It was so great seeing everyone again. I love my family out there.
We stayed up quite late, and I got up at a normal time! We hung out in Cuijk for a couple days, having great family time, discussing life and all things, going on bike rides and finding out that adorable ponies live across the lake!! We ate such good food [Rene is an amazing cook], and the rest of my cousins came over on Thursday for lunch before we headed into Amsterdam.
Dropping us off at the train station, to which we purchased 4 tickets to Amsterdam Centraal. One of our tickets didn’t print, so they called the help line. Their advice? “Hit the side of the machine.” 2 smacks later, we had our ticket. Very technical, yes? Gotta love that. After lots more hugs, we were off.
