It’s not really a secret that I’m a huge fan of sending and receiving snail mail.
There’s just something about sending and receiving mail through the post, and actually hand writing a letter.
Penning a letter. Something nostalgic, and totally relaxing for me. I enjoy writing, always have. It’s the reason I started blogging, but before that I was furiously writing away in a journal, pouring hours of conversations, events and memories onto a page.
Nothing really beats the feeling of getting a letter in the mail. I’m a huge fan of post cards as well, and have amassed quite the collection.I haven’t actually put them up in the new place yet, but I’m working on it. Might have to do a little DIY post for that. I just haven’t figured out how I want to display them yet.
Thoughout the years I’ve gotten a couple steady penpals, and while I’m not super quick sometimes at writing back (life, you know!) I always write back. I try to send little things as well, and I always pray that they don’t get lost. Oddly enough, the post isn’t that reliable, which I don’t really understand. There aren’t gunman intercepting the pony express anymore. But I love writing my current pals, and am always interested in writing to more! The more the merrier, I always say.
Sometimes, people think that I’m strange for wanting to write people. It’s something that my boyfriend doesn’t really understand and I get that. But then he’s not a big writer either.
Is this something that you love to do? I find that the blogging community is still interested in the whole snail mail concept. I’ve been a part of swaps for stationary and postcards, and it’s been so much fun. I host a Christmas Card swap every year as well, and it’s a great thing for bloggers who can’t always make it to meet-ups!
I’d love to hear if you love stationary and snail mail as much as I do, and if you want to reach out you can find my info here.
Happy Mailing!!
