Oh man. So last night was the Coors Light Iced T Launch Celebration, and it was totally worth staying out late on a work night, and missing school for.
It was an early start to the night, we were there by 9pm, and I drove down. It was at the Sound Academy on the pier, and I’ve never been there before, but it was really nice. It would have been even nicer if the weather had been warmer!!
You walk in and they get you to sign in, which gets you 2 free beer tokens. I was, of course, the DD so I passed my tokens along to Andrew. I did try a sip of it, just because I kinda had to… Can’t go to the launch and not try the product. It wasn’t anything fancy, and as I’m not a beer drinker of any kind, it’s not something I’m going to be running out to purchase. My real complaint about that beer? It made everyone STINK. Peoples’ breath literally smelt like… I don’t even know what. Like they’d already spent the night puking? So gross. Andrew said that once the beer was warm, it was pretty much undrinkable as well.
BUT the best part of the night was the entertainment. The decor/setup was pretty sweet as well, with all the promo girls walking around, some taking pictures, some on stage dancing, some walking around and mingling. I told Andrew that I need to get me a job like that. Look pretty and talk to people. They had it set up like at the beach, with cabanas and tents set up around the room in VIP areas.
The first opening dj was Toronto based CrashDex, and they had a dj/drummer thing going on. They were pretty good. Every time I said that they had a drummer, I got the reply “Oh like Travis Barker and what’s his face?” Yup. Just like that.. But the main event, the main reason I was going… was for:
