I’ve been using the HP Sprocket to help spice up my journal entries!
It’s been a long time since I’ve talked about stationery on this little space! I’ve recently started making more of an effort to journal once a week (at least) if not once a day. Sometimes writing every day when nothing happens is hard! But I recently started to re-read a bunch of old ones and realized that I completely skipped over things that didn’t seem important at the time, but I think are major events now!
One thing that I’d recently started doing with my journals is to try to combine my love of journaling and scrapbooking together. I’m finding that I don’t have as much time as I used to, and while I love scrapbooking, I can’t justify or find the time to do both. So I’m putting pictures in my journals.
A long while ago (I think back around Christmas) I decided to splurge on myself and finally make the jump into self-printing photos. I felt torn between the HP Sprocket and the Fujifilm Instax printers; each had its pros and cons and I was torn!
I decided on the HP Sprocket for many reasons, although the main reason was the cost.
It was cheaper for the initial purchase, as well as the film going forward. Even though I think that the quality is better with the Instax (and of course you get the adorable Polaroid frames!), I think that the HP Sprocket is a fine addition for adding cute details and photos to my journals!
It’s quite quick and easy to set up and use, and it’s a neat idea that the pictures are all stickers – makes me save on tape! I haven’t quite mastered the art of making it look like a Polaroid with a frame, but I’ll get it! Plus, writing on it with a Sharpie is just part of the fun.
I’m currently just using a hardcover blank paged journal from Anthropologie, and it’s taking me forever to finish. This has been my longest running journal since I started writing in the seventh grade. It’s embarrassing and also driving me crazy that I haven’t finished it (and still have so much more to go). I love the start of a new journal. And I have quite a few ready and waiting in the wings.
Hopefully, putting in some pictures will help take up some of the space!
I know that I won’t give up scrapbooking completely – I do enjoy having a dedicated photo album space, but for the interim, the HP Sprocket gives more dimension to my journal experience that’s quick and easy to get done!
Which do you prefer, the Sprocket or the Instax?
