I’m reviewing the GloWish by HUDA Beauty Pressed Powders!
Let’s break that beauty slump with some GloWish by HUDA beauty! I feel like it’s been at least six months since I’ve done a beauty review here. That isn’t to say that I haven’t been using or buying new makeup/skincare products! I’ve just been remiss.
This has been sitting in my drafts for some time and there’s no better time to crack them out now that summer is (hopefully) on the way in Ontario.
I purchased these back in January (along with the birthday freebie) from Sephora. I wanted to try a new brand and had heard good things about HUDA Beauty.
So I decided to grab the blush and the pressed powder. Honestly, one can never have too many blushes in my opinion. And I wanted to see how this brand held up against the Charlotte Tilbury pressed powder that is my current go-to.
GloWish Luminous Pressed Powder
I do like this pressed powder. My ONLY gripe with it is it’s too dark! This is the lightest shade (light medium) which is generally my shade because of my olive complexion. But it’s TOO dark even for me to use over my whole face in the winter. I’ve been using it more as a bronzer than a face powder. I’m sure that it’ll be my go-to when I’m fully tanned in the summer (or from a Mexico vacation), but right now its only use is a bronzer. The formulation otherwise is great. I like how it feels on my skin, isn’t irritating and doesn’t have an overly strong scent.
Due to that, I won’t be rebuying it. I might try another line from HUDA for the powder but right now I’ll stick with the Charlotte Tilbury one I’m using.
GloWish Cheeky Vegan Blush Powder
Oddly enough, while the pressed powder was too dark, I feel that this blush doesn’t have enough pigment. It does blend and layer well, but it’s a bit too neutral. I will use a cream blush and then add this on top for a little extra sparkle and depth. I like the look and feel of it, but I believe that there are stronger blush contenders out there to try instead of buying this one again.
Final Thoughts
I wish I liked these products more! I prefer the price range for these products, but right now the cost doesn’t outweigh the fact that I can only use it for half of the year. If only it was a lighter shade!
I am open to trying something else from the HUDA beauty line, but right now, it’s not one I’m going to be jumping at to buy any time soon.
What are your thoughts? Have you tried this brand/line? Let me know!
