Beauty :: Undercut Hairstyle

I decided to get an UNDERCUT! And I freaking LOVE it. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to having a full head of hair.

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen this pictures already. I decided to go crazy with my hair. Apparently 2016 is all about crazy hair for me and ridiculous changes.  I’ve always loved the idea of shaving off some of my hair, and I finally took the plunge.

Now I realize that this look isn’t for everyone – but here are some of the benefits of the undercut:

1 // LESS HAIR. Less hair means less to wash, which means it’s easier to take care of. Shorter dry time, less product needed, everything is just less.

2 // It’s an undercut, so if you have your hair down, it looks like you have a full head of hair.

3 // When you put your hair up, all of it stays up! (Unless you have bangs..)

4 // Short hair makes it easy to change up your colour.

The only downfalls to this for me are:

1 // The upkeep. My hair grows fast so I’m getting it taken care of every couple weeks. Plus side – My mom does it for me.

2 // If I were to ever grow it out, it would take foreverrrr and I’d most likely chop my hair off so that it grows in more even. But I have no issue with short hair, so it’s all good.

A couple weeks ago I bleached the undercut blonde, and then dyed it a more vibrant purple so that it would stand out more. It’s pretty awesome that I can do that, but again, upkeep! I couldn’t decide what colour I want to be next so I decided to just do a trim this past week. No more funky colours in my undercut anymore.

I’m already starting to plan what I’m going to be doing with my hair in the future – and it’s going to be drastic!! I can’t freaking wait for that. But I know that I’m not getting rid of the undercut anytime soon. But this won’t happen until mid-September, until after the wedding!
