Sooo.. this one was going to be my very first vlog.
But my video was terrible. So I’m going to have to pass on posting that one. But it will come! I just need way better lighting, and perhaps no boyfriend in the background.
So, without further ado, just a written post about getting ready for Valentine’s Day.
Due to the terrible lighting, you can’t really see my makeup. Which is crappy, but I decided to do a night look.
Normally I don’t fill in my brows for every day wear, so I fill them in with MAC Satin Eye Shadow in Mystery. Then, I set those bad boys with Benefit’s Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep. Brows, done!
Now up, the eyes. I use Eyeko’s Skinny Liquid Liner for the perfect cat eye. Although, in the video it’s super squiggly. I didn’t realize how terrible my eyesight is in the dark! Whoops. Note to self: Find a mirror as well. Although, with my skin type, I find that I need to use Urban Decay’s Naked Palette eye shadow to help set it. I use Naked as my base, then Sidecar as the next layer, and Half Baked as my final crease colour. Then to finish the look, I curl my lashes and apply a layer of Benefit’s They’re Real mascara. Eyes, Done!
For some shape, I apply Seventeen’s Stamp Blusher to my cheeks and blend with a blush brush. It can look a little clown-ish if you don’t blend.
For the final touch that pulls the look together, Wet N’Wild MegaSlicks Balm Stain in Redioactive*. I absolutely love this colour, it’s the perfect red for my skin tone. It also stains quite nicely, so a little goes a long way, and lasts quite a while (even with eating and drinking). This was my first introduction to Wet N’Wild lipsticks/makeup, and I am definitely pleased with the colour punch, and the moisturizing feel. Will definitely add this brand to my list!
*This product was sent to me complimentary, all opinions are my own!
Andrew and I are actually going out on Thursday for Valentine’s, so I’ll get him to take a picture of me on that day! Here’s to getting better at vlogging, and I’ll probably have this one up again. It’s a pretty standard way of doing my make-up. I actually enjoyed the act of video-taping myself. Go figure!
