Ever feel like you’re not branding your style correctly?
I know that I feel that way all the time. As the saying goes, Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. And I have such a hard time sticking with that!
My work is really quite relaxed with dress code. You can’t be a slob, obviously, but jeans and a nice shirt are completely acceptable every day. But sometimes I feel like dressing fancier, and it seems like a big deal because I don’t normally dress “fancy”.
I’ve been in the mood to completely overhaul my wardrobe again. But first, before I do that, I need to actually figure out what my style is. Rebrand my image, as it were. If I were a brand (which I technically could be), what would my image be saying to people who just met me? You never know who you’re going to meet, and how they might impact your life in the future, so you’d hope that you’re making a good first impression.
Sometimes I feel like I have such a varied sense of style that it makes it tough to narrow down. But as I scroll through my Pinterest page, I realize that’s not the case at all. Sure, my style sense has changed over the past years, and I’m getting slightly more feminine in a sense, but the basics that I love and grew up with are still there.
One of the things that I’m going to be doing again soon, is going through my closet. I love clearing it out and reorganizing it every once in awhile. Plus, it allows me to take stock of what I actually wear on a regular basis. I’m definitely a jeans-kinda girl, and I love the androgynous look.
While I wish that I could do more along the boho-chic lines, that’s just really not me at all. Fitted and clean lines are what I’m all about. Time to have a look and plan some outfits with my current closet, methinks! Any tips?
