It’s been awhile since I’ve written up a movie review on here, and it’s something that I’d like start doing more of again. I watch a lot of movies, and sometimes (most of the time) I really enjoy them.
I’m a huge fan of Keira Knightley and I really enjoyed her in this role. It was similar to her role in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (with Steve Carroll).
Plot: In the throes of a quarter-life crisis, Megan panics when her boyfriend proposes, then, taking an opportunity to escape for a week, hides out in the home of her new friend, 16-year-old Annika, who lives with her world-weary single dad (via IMDB).
Quarter-life crisis? That sounds relatable to me. I feel like I’m constantly going through a crisis. Megan (played by Keira Knightley) is done school but has no idea what she is going to do with her life. Or what she’s supposed to be doing with her life. Her friends have all either gotten married, have kids, and they have their lives together. Why can’t she figure out her life? So when she gets the chance to escape, she takes it.
I loved the chemistry between Keira and Sam Rockwell. It was very subtle, but amazing. And it felt real. The three of them together (Chloe Grace-Moretz) makes it a very bizarre friendship and romance, but it’s definitely relatable. She’s fallen out with the rest of her friends, fallen behind in their plan of life, and she has no idea where to go or what to do.
Overall, this movie is very underrated, and I feel that everyone should watch it. Especially if you like Keira Knightley. Plus, her American accent isn’t bad. I’ve definitely heard worse British ones.
Sometimes doing what every one thinks is the right thing, is not the right thing for you. Will you go watch this movie? Let me know what you think!
