Weleda Stretch Marks Oil | Beauty

Stretch marks and pregnancy are pretty synonymous with each other, right?

And since time immemorial, women have been trying to prevent them from happening.

I bought this back in February to help with the moisture of my skin and to see if it’ll be any different in regards to helping prevent and heal the stretch marks I knew I’d get from this pregnancy.

I bought this because I’m a bit of a sucker, and one of my favourite bloggers (@RosieLondoner) was using it for her pregnancy. What can I say, I’m an easy mark.

I know that stretch marks are somewhat genetic – if your mom has them, you’re probably gonna get them too. So while I’m all about being preventative, I know that I’m going to get them. But if I can make them less… angry looking, why not?

Now that I’m postpartum, what are my thoughts?

I liked this one – the oil is a little thicker than I expected, almost an olive oil consistency. The smell is fairly mild and not overpowering. It definitely did help keep my tummy moisturized!

During pregnancy (since I used it for 5 months) I didn’t find that it necessarily prevented any major stretch marks. I still got fairly strong marks on and around my belly button (it’s never going to be the same). I do think that was mainly due to baby placement as well, as I seemed to get stretch marks in completely different places this time around.

While it didn’t prevent them from happening (I don’t think anything will ever fully prevent stretch marks from occurring) I’m still using it postpartum to help keep the skin moisturized and hopefully help the healing process while my skin bounces back from being stretched to the max.

While kids are worth it, this little guy did a number on my body. Where Kaiden stretched me out in the hip/upper thigh area, Eli is all about the belly! Seriously, my poor belly button. I’m hoping that it goes back to somewhat normal in the next couple weeks.

Interested in this? I bought it on Amazon, but you can find it here (for Canada). Also, get cash back using Ebates!

I’ll try and do a little more of an update when my body has lost all the baby bloat and isn’t swelling any more!
