Weekend Recap

This weekend, was amazingly insane. Friday night, Coby, Andrew and I [with a bunch of Andrew’s friends] saw The Avengers. It was AWESOME. Coby and I loved the movie. It was everything that we expected, but funnier! I laughed my ass off in the movie. You can totally tell Coby and I are related though, and huge movie nerds. No one else really liked the movie… Which surprised me? I dunno… To each their own right. Besides the fact that this movie was a whole bunch of sexy eye-candy, it was great action and lots of great dialogue. I thoroughly enjoyed this, regardless of what the boyfriend thought.

Saturday. Oh lordy. Slept in because I didn’t get home until around 3 the night before. I had a slow start, couldn’t seem to get up the energy/drive to do anything before heading out for Ethan’s 1st Birthday party! Can’t believe that the little tyke is already a year… Jenn went all out for it too. Rented the party room of her building, and had streamers, and pictures EVERYWHERE. It was super cute, because she did a cute owl theme [which of course, I love] and there was so much good food. It was a little weird because everyone there had a baby, or were grandparents… Coby and I were almost the only ones without. Awkward. Ah well. I ate a lot of food, took food home, and chilled with the family. Then Dad dropped me back off at home, and I did a little bit of cleaning… before I went to pick up Andrew, and hang out at his house.

Jenn, Ethan and Eric!

He got into a little trouble, and got his license suspended. He forgot to pay a ticket, and boop, got pulled over by a cop. Shitty times for him. Means that he needs to get rides from everyone, or bike/walk around. Good thing the weather is nice out!
Sunday was Mother’s Day! Andrew and I went out for lunch with his mom and family, delicious Japanese at Spoon & Fork. It was really yummy, and nice to go out with his family. Not the best restaurent choice by Andrew, as his mom is allergic to shellfish… but she was able to eat the rolls and the noodle dishes. Mm Pad Thai! We were early arriving, so Andrew and I popped into Winners to see what they had, and I found a couple of sweet dresses. Sadly, they didn’t feel right, so I’ll have to return them. It would have been such a great haul. I found a Michael Kors dress for $67.00, and a Calvin Klein for $49.00.

Then I was hustling and bustling to get groceries, and start cooking. Mainly baking, as that was the time consuming part. I didn’t have a tube pan [aka bundt pan], so I made the executive decision to just split up the cakes into round cake tins. I actually didn’t take a picture of the cake.. Shocking! But I have some left over so I’ll take a picture of that…. even though it looks destroyed now…
I was making salmon, with a mustard rub, and baby potatoes and green beans [also in a mustard sauce..] As I was making it, I thought to myself.. “Hmm this is a little mustard overkill, but too late to change now!” That wasn’t enough salmon for everyone, Coby was hungry for more. Everyone loved the fish. And the veggies… although some weren’t cooked enough so were very crunchy. I have so many left over beans and potatoes, I’ll have to make more during the week. Good thing I love beans!

How did you spend your Mother’s Day?
