Toronto :: Spadina Museum presents Downton Abbey

Spadina House

So, Briana and I made the jump to go to see this exhibition as soon as we heard about it, and last Saturday finally arrived for our turn at the tour!

I’ve never really been that far up Spadina St. before, so this was even more of an adventure. Right at the top of a hill, beside Casa Loma, sits Spadina House. I’ve decided to split this into 2 parts, as these are going to be super picture heavy. This one will be about the Downton Abbey costumes, and the 2nd will be more about the history and architecture of the house.Again, this is a very picture heavy post!!

I actually haven’t completed all the seasons of Downton yet, it’s just sitting on my to-do list. I’m 2 seasons behind! But I’ve broken down the pictures into the characters who wore them, and the dresses that were original to the house.

The clothes were all stunning, and it was very difficult not to touch them! So intricate and detailed. It totally makes me wish that I lived in that time… Sucks to have been born in the wrong era!
