Toronto :: Royal Agricultural Winter Fair 2015

The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is coming back for another year, and it’s always such a highlight for me in the dreary month of November.

But this year, I’m doing something different! I’m actually going to be attending one of the nightly horse shows (the barn that I ride at does a group thing every year) and I’m actually really excited for it. Of course, Mom and I will still be spending the whole day there browsing all of the booths. You can find the show schedules here.

I love hitting up the Royal for potential Christmas presents, I need to start organizing that list of people. I’ve always found some really good presents there (usually in the way of extremely yummy foods). Between the Royal and the One of a Kind show, I get my Christmas shopping done quickly!

I also try and see some of my friends from school too, since a lot of them are showing their cows, or just attending for their farms. I hope that I can see a couple of them!  And of course, I love going there to eat. It’s tradition to buy fudge, and goat cheese. Random I know but what can I say? Tradition is tradition. This year, I’ve actually got some horse wish list items to purchase (or at least keep an eye out for). I’ll be snapping them up if they’re an amazing deal. So I’ll probably be dropping a good bit of cash at this show this year. Sigh – all in the name of horses!

In other exciting news, this year the Royal is being visited by royals! On the 13th, her Royal Highness, the Princess of Edward, Countess of Wessex will be attending the Fair with the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. This will be the first visit by a royal at the Royal since 2009 (when Prince Harry and Princess Kate showed up to open the Royal Winter Fair). I won’t be attending that day, but still, how exciting!!

Buy your tickets for the day beforehand here, or you can purchase them at the door. It’s such a great way to get people interested in where our food comes from, see all the farm animals, and get some really cool shopping done.
