Toronto :: Design Exchange Grand Soiree

I have made the decision to become a socialite. These are the steps that I am following to get there:

  1. Attending more events.
  2. Rubbing elbows with what I assume to be the elite.
  3. Wearing heels and dressing nice All. The. Time.

Going to the Grand Soiree, hosted by Grand Marnier, is pretty much step 1-3 all in one. I attended the event, I mingled and put myself out there, and I looked damn good. Check, check, check.

Anyways, on to the event of the night. An exhibit about shoes? Sign me up! Specifically, Louboutin shoes – the creator of all things gorgeous and awe-inspiring? Double Check. At first I attempted to win tickets to this event, but since that fell through, I sucked it up and spent the $22 [totally not a socialite move… it’s $22].

This $22 was possibly the best money I’ve spent in a while. I felt glamorous walking amongst all those gorgeous, outrageously priced shoes. How could you not? With a cocktail in one hand [sad to say was way to strong for my tastes, so I couldn’t drink it] and browsing around getting photos taken [and taking photos] it was glorious. I actually only really chatted up the people that worked there, maybe I should go into that kind of salesmanship. The thing about these events is that there really isn’t that much cause to mingle outside of the group that you are with.

The exhibit was stunning. He has done so many amazing shoe designs, and it was fascinating to read about what goes on behind the design, it doesn’t just happen that the shoe comes to life. There were so many shoes there that I would have definitely scooped up, or even stolen if I could have. Well set up, there was even a hologram showgirl dance done by Dita von Teese, so gorgeous and sexy. Definitely added to the night! While I didn’t take pictures of every single shoe, I did take lots of pictures of the ones that caught my eye.

This pair totally made me think of Andrew, maybe he’d buy me these?
