It’s cottage season!
Now that summer has officially been kicked off with our 30 degree days, Andrew and I are willing to take any chance to get up north to the cottage we can.
We were able to get out of the city last weekend to celebrate Andrew’s buddy’s birthday at his girlfriend’s cottage. And it was such a nice weekend – much nicer than predicted! It dawned nice and hot every morning. Sun shining, it was hot! But the bugs weren’t bad which made it so enjoyable.
There were 7 people up that weekend, plus Kaiden. The layout of her place is set up really nice – there’s a separate bunkie that Andrew and I stayed in so we could keep Kaiden separate. Made it really nice for nap time. No need to worry about everyone making too much noise and waking the baby!
We spent the weekend eating good food, having some great conversations and spending time around the water.
The boys decided to tackle some small jobs around the place, while the ladies hung out and chatted. One of the girls up is getting married (she’s who the bachelorette will be for in August) so we chatted wedding details, bachelorette details, and just boys and life in general.
We went to a little public beach area that was a short walk from the cottage and Kaiden spent a little time splashing in the water. So cute!
Nights were spent star-gazing and we even saw Jupiter!! Which is amazing. It was so bright in the sky. I had a great time chatting with the girls while the boys had a fire and Kaiden was sleeping.
I know that we’ll be going up north again for the Canada Day long weekend next weekend but hopefully, that won’t be the last time until August!
Once the bugs disappear and the weather stays hot, it’s a lovely place to spend the summer months.
