Shopping :: Zara

Ok, so this isn’t a post about how I got a great haul from Zara. Actually, it’s the opposite.

Is there anyone else here that doesn’t understand the obsession with Zara? *raises hand* I don’t. And I’ll fully admit it. I was super excited when one opened in my local mall, and then I went in and went “holy cow… look at those prices!”, and then my next thought was… How does anyone fit in these clothes??

It is completely possible that the Canada version of Zara is not as good as UK/US stores, but that shouldn’t be the way of it right? I won’t lie, I’m constantly drawn in by their windows and brightly coloured clothing. But nothing ever fits me right. Although, I did find a pair of jeans that fit me. And a cute skirt, that I might have to pick up soon… As it is very work appropriate.

But I tried a lot of their dresses on this past weekend, and every single one. Didn’t fit, was broken, was just plain ugly, even if on the rack it was cute. One of the dresses would have been amazing on, I think, but it was sooo strange. The neck hole wasn’t big enough to fit your head through, and I don’t think that I have an abnormally large head. And the ones with see-through cutouts in the sides, they seemed way to high for me, so clearly I don’t have a large enough torso for them. It was just frustrating to go through about 8 dresses and really only find a skirt.

Go figure. Does anyone else have this issue? Although, some of their shoes? To die for. I think I’ll take Topshop over Zara any day. (Topshop is also coming soon to my local mall).
