Sephora Samples | Beauty

Getting samples from Sephora is probably the best thing ever.

This post has been a little in the making, but I wanted to make sure that I gave everything a fair go before writing about it. I love the fact that Sephora does give out samples because their products aren’t cheap and I don’t want to waste money on something that doesn’t work for my skin tone/type.

I have my eye on quite a few new hair products, as well some makeup that I got for free with purchase a while back.

Samples

Hair Care

Briogeo Scalp Scrub – I wanted so badly to like this one! I’d heard great things about this company and its products, but alas it wasn’t for me. It was definitely a cool product. Felt cool and tingly on the scalp upon application and was really easy to use.

Ouai Scalp and Body Scrub – Another scalp scrub. I also wanted to like this too. It felt great upon application. Looks and feels like a sugar scrub but dissolved and actually got quite foamy once massaged into your hair. It’s a little harder to apply since the scrub itself is a thicker consistency. But it also didn’t quite agree with my scalp. I liked the fact that it could be used on the body too, even though I didn’t use it on my body at all, I feel like it’s nice that it’s multipurpose.

Skin Care

Sephora clay masks – these are really nice! A little goes a long way and they made my skin feel smooth and soft. They’re pretty inexpensive so definitely worth a repurchase. I like that the packages are sealable so that you can get more than one use out of them! The package says 4 uses but if you spot treat with other masks I’m sure you would get more usage.

Makeup

Sephora lipsticks – these little sample palettes last me such a long time since I rarely remember to use them but I love being able to try out fun new shades without having to take up too much drawer space.  I definitely do gravitate to my go-to shade (more purple based than orange) but some days I live on the edge. The formula is nice; smooth application and not overly drying. Also, a great price to add some colour to your makeup collection.

Benefit Gimme Brow – I bought the travel size mainly because I was feeling the pinch, but this is a definite rebuy for me. I love how it just sets the brows and gives a little colour. It just fills in my brows enough when I don’t actually feel like doing them fully. Plus it keeps them in shape even if they aren’t 100%. As a mom, that’s key.

Hourglass foundation – I haven’t actually tried this one yet since it seems to be a little bit too dark for my skin, even now that I’m tanned a little bit. Unfortunate, because I did want to try this brand out!

I think I’ll go back and grab a couple more samples of some things, but right now I’m going to leave it there. Unfortunately for me, but probably not my wallet, nothing really worked for me! I’m currently trying out the Kristen Ess line of scalp products (review to come) and am thinking of cutting down and getting back to basics with my hair and skincare.

I’ve got my eye on the MILK Kush mascara and kind of want to try the brow gel as well. MILK gets great feedback on social media, so I’d like to see if it’s worth the hype!

Are there any products that I should try out? Let me know!
