The invite! |
This weekend was a kind of a big deal. Even though plans fell through on the Friday night, it was probably for the best because I was pooped once I got home from yoga, and was supposed to make it over to Andrew’s house, but he had to go into work, so he wasn’t back until later, and by that time I was in no mood to even get off the sofa, let alone drive to his house and back.
But Saturday was the big enchilada. Andrew’s close family friend, Jeff is getting married in 2 months and so it was his Stag and Doe. This was the first one that I’ve been to one, and it was interesting. I’m not a huge fan of them, because I don’t like all the little games, and while it’s awesome that all the money is going to something that you know and is worth it, I don’t think that in the grand scheme you really make enough money to justify them. But that just me. Regardless of my personal opinion of them, Saturday night was a lot of fun. I didn’t really know anyone other than the Edwards, and Jeff’s immediate family, and the bride.
There was a lot of older people, but it was nice to see some of the younger crowd out. Not that I knew any of them. But there was a cute guy… who was also hitting on all the single ladies in the crowd. The food was amazing. Jeff’s mom spent 2 days cooking it all. Cabbage rolls! I was in heaven. They were amazing. I actually won something, too! Andrew and I now have a paid date night, because we won dinner at a restaurant! So exciting. Andrew…. got a wee bit drunk. Ok, he got a lot drunk. So drunk that in the middle of the night I moved to the sofa because he kept waking me up, and it made me angry. Very angry. But he was very contrite, so I forgave him. But I’m not going to let him forget it. Not any time soon.
