Ah the last weekend of reading week, and it was glorious. I did a lot of cleaning, watched a movie and the Oscars. But what else is new there? That seems to be the trend of all my weekends.
Since this morning everyone will be discussing the Oscars [for the most part], I figured I’d throw my two cents in. I’m not going to comment on any of the fashion because I didn’t watch the red carpet portion [although Jennifer Garner’s dress was fabulous], but this year I found myself loving majority of the speeches.
I do think that the highlight for me was Matthew McConaughey’s speech. I’ve never been a major fan of him when he was in his rom-com days, but I’ve seen him in his new show True Detective, and I can’t wait to see Dallas Buyer’s Club. His speech was just the most heartwarming and inspiring ever. Jared Leto’s speech was definitely a great way to start the night off as well, as he took home best supporting actor.
Although, all the Leo memes are killing me right now. I think that this Buzzfeed article sums it up quite nicely. You really do have to ask yourself, why hasn’t he won an Oscar yet?
