The end of a month, and the start of a new crazy one. Already it seems like I have too much stuff to fit in! Definitely will need to start getting on top of my time management.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. Quick recap of the weekend!
Counted down the minutes until work was over. I have no idea why the work week felt soooo long. I was glad when it was over. I headed to my mom’s work so that she could do my hair (French Twist, looked so pretty). Took the car from her, headed home to go pack and get ready for the night/weekend. I didn’t get completely dressed up because I didn’t want to look like a complete whore in front of his parents (even though they knew that it was Halloween… and were ok with it). I looked awesome though. (At least I felt hot). We had bottle service, so it was even better. There were 4 of us total at the beginning of the night, Andrew and I, and a buddy he works with and his girlfriend (Tom and Jane). We’ve been out before together, and it was fun. It was nice to be able to DANCE again. Andrew’s not the most accomplished dancer (white boy groove), but at least he dances, and has a good time. So I was happy, and we danced together, I danced with Jane, danced by myself, it was awesome. I drank quite a bit, (so much that I woke up with a headache the next morning). I rarely drink so it’s fun to do once in a while. Later on, some other girls came out which was fun, but there was a little bit of drama there. I didn’t really see them too much, but it was fun regardless. They didn’t really seem to stay long either, but the night kinda flew by. We arrived probably around 10.30, and then all of a sudden it was packed and last call. We left the club and went to Smoke’s Poutinerie (om nom nom) and chowed down on yummy fries, gravy, cheese, beef, onions and mushrooms. Grabbed a taxi home, and finished off the evening by passing out. A great Halloween night. Makes up for some not so good ones in previous years.
Saturday/Sunday:
The view of the lake at the cottage. |
I had a dentist appointment in the morning, but afterwards we drove up to the cottage. It was super pretty and really good weather. Cold, but really pretty. NO RAIN. It seems all the times I’ve been to the cottage, it’s been raining. Andrew and his brother had stuff that they needed to do outside, so Thomas started a fire and I froze my bum off trying to get some accounting homework done. I did some reading, and studying. I wasn’t able to do any questions (hands to cold to hold a pencil) but I kept an eye on the fire, and kept reading.
It was cold enough for a fire! |
Then the guys finished what they needed to do outside, they made dinner and we watched movies pretty much all night. We watched Nightmare Before Christmas (great for Halloween weekend), Easy A (so so funny, I love that movie) and Battle: LA. I’d never seen that one, it was pretty good. Made me jump more than once though. (And Andrew wants me to go see Paranormal Activity 3 with him…. I’d literally die.) Scary movies = not my thing. Thomas went to bed halfway through Battle:LA, but Andrew and I finished it. Then we headed to bed, and had a great sleep in on Sunday morning.
Sunday, was another day of semi-relaxation for me. Tried to do some more accounting (and failed miserably) and did some cleaning around the cottage. The guys were back outside working away underneath this time.
Warming my toes. It was cold! Best slippers ever. |
