Recap :: Weekend No. 35

Ah, back to a regular work week.

I have a first of one of my classes tonight, always exciting, so it’s my early start morning. This weekend was really, really expensive for me. I ended up buying a new laptop, so that set me back a wee bit, and just ate out a bit and also went out and hit the town.

A lot of fun, Andrew was around quite a bit this weekend so we spent a good amount of time together, which is always nice and appreciated. We had breakfast out on Saturday, and then I bought my computer and he went shopping for some new shoes. I went out for girl’s night Saturday night, which was interesting…

We hit up a club that was having a TIFF party [sadly, I have seen no celebrities], and was poorly disappointed with the choice that we made. The club was really nice on the inside, but there was barely any dance floor, and the club’s layout was so bad that I still can’t get over it. Nothing is worse than having the dance floor surrounded by bottle service booths, so that people are pushing through the floor to get to the table, or servers are pushing through trying to get alcohol or drinks through to the tables. Not to mention that this is really annoying and frustrating for them, it’s really annoying for the people attempting to dance. Perhaps it just wasn’t our night, but the people there seemed really rude. I got shoved and stepped on, and there were a couple guys that were obnoxiously talking up a lot of space that wasn’t available due to the amount of people. We decided to leave around 1am, and then walked and taxied to Velvet Underground. Honestly, I don’t see why we don’t just start there since we always end up back there. It’s still my favourite place. Even though wearing the heels that I did, I managed to fall down the stairs to the bathroom… Smooth.

It was exciting because that night we met the bar manager, and he took us out later and introduced us to all the people that worked there, and we went to another bar and danced until 4.45 am. When our feet were finally giving out, one of the doormen that worked at Velvet gave us a ride home since he wanted to leave anyways. The guys were a lot of fun, and they even recommended a good gay bar that we could hit up for some good dancing. Yay! Perhaps one night we might even hit up a place with them. Due to TIFF, most of the clubs were open until 5am that morning, and were serving until 4am. It was probably the latest night I’ve ever stayed out in Toronto, I didn’t get home until 5.30! I pretty much immediately passed out, and it was glorious. Even though it wasted most of my Sunday sleeping until 1.30 in the afternoon, it was still a great day. I was able to do a decent amount of cleaning etc. Very domestic.

And now, I still feel tired and am aiming to go to bed way earlier tonight. At least Andrew and I are both in the early morning wake up boat.
