Recap :: Weekend No. 20

Happy long weekend! My posts are going to be all over the place because I decided to take the whole weekend off. Not that I had internet connection where I was either… But that’s besides the point.

The weather was completely gorgeous. I think it was the best May 24 long weekend weather we’ve had in a long time. Sunny, and hot, with temperatures in the high 20’s [that’s in Celsius.]. Completely amazing.

I headed up on Friday night with Andrew’s mom, and his buddy Nik. We didn’t leave until 8.30 at night, which was good. I was able to get a bunch of stuff done and grocery shop. His mom and I packed up the car, she fed me some dinner, and then we picked up Nik and headed out. The traffic was decent and we arrived in good time. To arrive to… a very drunk crowd. Andrew was beyond ridiculous, but it was fun. I got introduced to the only other girl there, Michelle, and we got along really well, so that was good. Andrew was just slurring away, drinking coffee because he was cut off. I haven’t seen him this drunk in a long time. They kept laughing at me because I looked so unimpressed. Which I was at the time. But whatever, it wasn’t a huge deal. He crashed pretty much after I arrived, and slept like a baby.

Saturday morning, the weather was amazing. We all wake up [there’s like 15 in the cottage] and we make breakfast, I start baking for the engagement party later on, and then we eat. After I finish baking, I head out to the dock, and get my tan on. And yes, I realize that it’s not the healthiest thing for you, but I wore SPF! I was as safe as one can be. Then we headed over the Blueberry Island where some of the boys went swimming, I went tanning with Michelle, and got lots of sun. Aka I burnt my legs… Oh joyous. Luckily the bugs weren’t bad, so I just put aloe gel on and more sunscreen and was off! It was too hot for pants, so I wore shorts or my bathing suit all weekend. It was pretty awesome. Saturday afternoon/night was when the real fun happened though. Dennis decided that it was his goal to get me drunk that night, but he kept forgetting [which was good for me]. Andrew didn’t drink quite so much as the night before, there was good food, and good company. It was a lot of fun. We had a good laugh over Adam’s top 25 most played playlist on his iPod, which was all Disney and Glee. Only one person got actually sick, but it was his own fault and went a little overboard with the drinking, and smoking.

Sunday, a bunch of people went home, so it was a lazy day. More tanning, [this time the back] and chilling in the shade. I have a new found love for mimosas and watermelon. Summer drink, here I come. Champagne doesn’t give me the headache vodka does. Which = more love. I’ve decided that because I don’t drink a lot anyways, I’m only going to buy quality alcohol, no more of the cheap stuff! Although, the champagne I drink isn’t the most expensive but it’s good. I’m excited to get a couple chairs out on my balcony and sit out there with Andrew and a couple drinks. That’ll be the life!

Monday was spent packing, cleaning, and seeing HJ one last time before him and Kate vamanos off to Thunder Bay. It was pretty chill, traffic wasn’t that great heading home, but it was manageable. Can’t really complain, although it was making me pretty tired. So I had to stop off at the service centre to get a coffee. It was nice to be alone with Andrew for a bit, and we talked about everything. And then I dropped him off, went home and showered, and then dropped Coby off, and went back to see Andrew. Spent the rest of the night cooking for lunches, and then headed to bed.

It was a great weekend, and I can’t wait to head up again. I think this was the best cottage weekend I’ve ever had… How was everyone else’s?
