I started 2020 with the best of planner intentions.
And we’ve all seen how 2020 has turned out. I feel like ‘shit show’ is putting it mildly.
So while I had my Passion Planner already I decided that I wanted to switch from the academic calendar (August to July) to an annual one (January to December). So halfway through the year, when planners were on sale I decided to pick up a Happy Planner.
A Mom Planner, to be exact.
So when the pandemic happened and all events were cancelled (cue disappointment!), I fell off the planning wagon. I wasn’t doing anything exciting or going anywhere, why should I be writing in my planner?
But I’ve decided to make more of an effort again.
Especially since I want to figure out if I go with Happy Planner again, or Passion Planner, or another one.
So I got the dashboard layout, which I absolutely love. I like how all the days are on the same page, AND has space for a weekly focus – which I use to plan out what I’m making for dinner every day. That space has literally been a game changer for me. I plan pretty much 2 weeks in advance and it helps me make my grocery list.
I love the space for lists on the other side. It keeps me on track with emails and calls for work, and while I’m not really using it to it’s fullest potential, I’m getting there!
I purchased some of the Happy Planner inserts to help bulk this baby up.
I also bought the Budget planner insert – this is going to be amazing. There are so many pages to help keep me on track financially. I want to be better with my money again, and writing down all my purchases definitely helps! Plus, I should probably start putting more money away and putting more towards our mortgage.
And a little bit of an impulse, I saw the social media insert and I immediately was sold on the insert kit. And it doesn’t disappoint! It has space for 4 accounts so I’m using it for my Instagram and blog, and Andrew’s Instagram. And all the checklists on the back!! Yay!
I bought just some note pages because it didn’t come with any and I needed them!! I have notes that carry over to every new planner, so when this didn’t come with it I was a little putout. But it’s made a difference getting the inserts. Although the only reason it took me this long was COVID.
Honestly, I’m more sold on the HP agenda because of the way the inserts work.
I love how easy they are to put in, move around, and they’re undated so if I skip a week it doesn’t matter! I’ll just put it in another week. I also use a lot of their stickers already so it’s a win win!
The extension packs and the extender discs make this so accessible. I’m kind of obsessed.
So while I’m still on the fence about which planner I’m going to pick up in December, the Happy Planner is definitely taking an edge over the Passion Planner (right now).
Which planner do you love to use? Let me know!
