My Hair Journey | Lifestyle

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been experimenting with different hair colours and styles.

Having a hairdresser for a mother definitely made getting changes super easy. I could take a picture or an idea to her and pretty much have my hair done the same day (or same week if she needed to get the colour). I am 100% spoiled in that regard.

I think the earliest I remember dying my hair is 6th grade… and cutting it started back in grade 2. Mom cut my hair super short and I don’t remember but looking at pictures I hated it. I dyed my hair purplish-red in grade 6 and never looked back.

I’ve pretty much done every colour and every style. You name it I’ve probably done it.

Perms. Short. Long. Undercut. Blonde. Black. Blue. Green. Purple. Red. Pink. Silver.

This is probably the first time in twenty years that my hair is completely natural. No colour. Growing out the short hair and the undercut.

I’ll be cutting it into a bob once I can get my haircut again because then it will finally be the same length all the way around!! I cannot wait for that moment. Even if it’ll be short. I’m so looking forward to growing out my hair and having it long again. I have missed the long hair. I want to get better at braiding because I love how they look!

But really, this post is just because I wanted to put together a timeline for all the weird and funky things I’ve done with my hair. It’s also kind of amazing how my hair has changed just over the past 10 years. I don’t even have to go back as far as 2nd grade. I think I’ve done all I mentioned above in the past 10 years. Most in the past 5 years, if I’m being honest.

And shockingly, I have no plans to dye my hair anytime soon. I’m enjoying not having any maintenance. No need to be in the chair for hours to get the perfect colour. It probably won’t last, but I’ll enjoy this brief vacation for my hair.

What’s your favourite look for me? What should I do again?
