I don’t know what it is, but my morning routine has been absolutely amazing. And so much easier to stick with!
Perhaps it’s the time change, perhaps it’s knowing that I’m only 15 minutes away from work, but I’ve been able to get up earlier and actually get things done in the morning. I’m loving it!
So lately my morning routine is getting up, getting dressed/putting makeup on, prepping everything for work, and then going back to my room to have a quick morning meditation. I say meditation, but it’s really just grounding myself and setting a few intentions for the day. Things like “I’m invoking kindness and happiness throughout my day, and I welcome these emotions into my day.” I light a candle, I focus on my crystals, and it’s a great way to start the day. My day doesn’t always end that great (sometimes kindness and happiness don’t stay all day…) but it sets me up for a great day at work. SN: I should probably set aside a couple times a day to do this in order for the magic to stay all day!
Now that we are looking after Sonny, our friend’s dog, it’s just emphasized more the fact that my morning routine is here to stay. I’m up just a little bit earlier (6.30, I’m looking at you) to be able to fit in a 20-30 minute dog walk every morning. Although, I’m still working out that routine, but it’s working out to be get up, throw warm clothes on, brush teeth then walk dog. Once back from walking the dog, then I finish the rest of my routine. I want to figure out putting yoga in there somewhere, since I’m up anyways! It’ll probably fit best right after the dog walk.
I ask myself every night, “Who am I?” in a slight tone of disbelief because this has never happened before. I’ve never felt so… good, getting up in the morning. I am absolutely loving it, and fingers crossed that it keeps up!
What does your morning look like? Are you up in time to take your time, or do you race out of the door last minute?
