Life :: Girls Night Out

I’m not one to party hard, because I’m usually the one driving everyone around. But on Thursday, Briana and I made plans to stay out all night and not drive so I could drink.

We met up after work around 7.30, after a harrowing rush to get ready. And then a harrowing walk down to the B&B. I say harrowing just because I was speed-walking like a madman with a humongous purse. Obviously overstuffed with the essentials. I was beyond hot when I finally arrived, and needed a glass of water and air. And a moment to sit down. We checked into the B&B, had a grand tour of the most amazing Victorian house ever, and then settled our stuff into the room. Tiny, but cheap so we didn’t complain. Besides, it was so nice to be close to the venues that we were going to we didn’t care. Price was our main focus anyways.

The ornate fireplace in the dining room
The red velvet room. It was a little overwhelming.

3 floors up in the house, awesome architectural details, and roaming through the house. We started getting ready, then decided we were starving so headed off to find sustenance. Ended up finding this adorably delicious bakery that made sandwiches from scratch. So we grabbed some sandwiches [ham and cheese grilled cheese, ahmazing] and a strawberry tart for me, plus coffees. I also picked up some alcohol and juice. After a quick bite to eat, we finished getting ready and started chatting and drinking. God, I missed girl chat! After a good chat, we headed to the venue, and met up with Eryn and her boyfriend, who were having a beer in the next bar over.

After they finished up that, we headed into The Ballet. Where they didn’t card me? I got carded at the liquor store, but not into the club. Interesting. It wasn’t busy at all, and there weren’t any cute boys so we got a drink and settled ourselves in a booth to watch the show. And it was good, but short and not enough of them! There were only 3 dancers currently, so it was a little boring waiting around for the dancers to come back on. Although, the music was great and the company even better, it was a little bit of a let down in that aspect. Also, I’d never been to a burlesque bar, but Eryn has been and she said that this one was a little more stripper-esque, but that could just be due to not having enough girls. Regardless, I had a lot of fun.

It’s a terrible picture, but it’s the only one of my outfit!

After Eryn and her boyfriend left [she had to work in the morning], we decided to head down to Velvet Underground. I’m constantly trying to get people to go there with me, and Briana is eclectic enough in her music tastes to love it [which she did]. Goth night made it interesting as we stood out like sore thumbs being just a little overdressed. I was wearing a sequin number so I was like a disco ball. It was awesome. But we rocked out and had a great time just watching people do their own thang. That’s what I love about Velvet, you can just go and dance, and no one will judge. And there’s only one or two creepy guys.

We stayed out until 3 am, my feet were literally dying on me, but I lived. And slept like a rock. It was awesome.
