So, this past month I’ve been really trying to curb my spending, and other than my little tiny blip at Joe Fresh I’ve been pretty good. Of course, it’s only the 2nd week of March and I’ve pretty much maxed out a couple of my budgets… Which isn’t good.
So I’ve always been fairly ‘old-school’ when it comes to everything that’s important. Budgeting, lists, calendars, all paper. But budget-keeping and recording it old-school just wasn’t working for me. It’d stick for about a month or two, and then I’d forget. So, I decided to jump onto the Mint bandwagon. I know a couple of friends who use it, and it was definitely easy to set up. But then I forgot about this too. I didn’t really know what I was doing and so I just ignored it.
But last month I got back into it, re-edited all of my budgets, and really gave this a go. And I love it! It makes it so easy that there is an app, and I can check it at any point. Since I use all credit to make any purchase, this makes it easy to track and organize into the correct category. I usually check this at least once a week, but every couple days is pretty easy to manage. Anything longer than that and you’ll have to spend more time categorizing and can fall off the track I think.
